2010/11 Toyo tires Mazda Pro 7 Plus Championship

Once again the Pro7 plus championship was dominated by cars prepared, tuned and maintained by Hitech Motorsport. With former two time champion, and long time Hitech customer, Matt Lockwood moving to the NZV8 class, and previous series runner-up, Chris Hanley, moving into the V8 utes class, the championship was anyone's at the beginning of the season. The series was a close as ever, with brilliant racing through out the year.

Again the championship came down to the final race, a two horse race between James Parker, and Dean McMillan. Both drivers were in near identical RX7's, both prepared and tuned by Hitech Motorsport. At the chequered flag it was James who won the championship, narrowly beating Dean by the smallest of margins and only a few points.

Dean is returning to the Pro 7 championship next year, and is hoping to finally win the championship, after being in the hunt for the previous three seasons. James Parker is moving to the SS2000 class, in a very radical Honda turbo powered RX7. Joining the ranks of Pro 7 Plus next season will be young charger Brad Lathrope, in the car campaigned previously with great success by Chris Hanley. Brad had some excellent results in the "junior" series one Pro 7 cars this season, and should be one to watch once he adapts to the quicker, more powerful batmobile RX7's.
