Hitech Motorsport Targa Bambina Results
Hitech Motorsport had a fantastic result in the two day Targa Bambina, held on the roads around the Papakura and Franklin districts. Customer Barry Hare achieved a giant killing result in the little 2003 Mini Cooper.
After two days of competition, on sometimes wet and slippery roads, Barry and co driver John McCabe, brought the Toyota turbo powered Mini home 4th overall, 2nd two wheel drive and 2nd in class 8. They were beaten by a Mitsubishi Evo 9, a Mitsubishi Evo 6 and a Porsche 996 GT2 twin turbo. Incredibly Barry was only 1 second behind the Porsche of Ross Johnson, who was 1st in class 8, and 1st two wheel drive. Barry beat a number of 4wd cars and much more exotic machinery, on the way to this amazing result.
Hitech Motorsport carry out all the preparation and maintenance of the Hayes Knight Mini, including the engine and gearbox rebuilds, suspension set up and alignment and engine management tuning. We also provide the service crew, and carry out on event servicing and support for Barry and John.
As you will see in other news, we have recently completed Barry's new weapon, a Rover SD1. We are looking forward to the main Targa, in October. This may be the Targa debut for the Rover, however, Barry is undecided on which car he will compete in, the Mini or the Rover. Either way we are looking forward to another great result.
